Golden West Shutters opened with one idea: the most qualified shutter company is one that specializes only in shutters and builds them in-house. Not a window-covering generalist. Not a reseller. A manufacturer.
While competitors moved to imported panels and outsourced installers in the 1990s and 2000s, we kept manufacturing in Lake Forest. Today we are one of the last standing local shutter manufacturers in Orange County, and the model that once seemed old-fashioned has become our biggest advantage.

Meet Dave and John
Your project is owner-managed. Dave and John are fully active in the day-to-day of Golden West Shutters. You will see them on the factory floor, in the showroom, and sometimes on installations.
David Harris’s background is in Industrial Engineering. John Stahman’s is in Mechanical Engineering. That combination shows up in every shutter we build: the ten-step finishing process, the tight panel tolerances that eliminate gaps and rattles, and the custom milling that handles bay windows, arched tops, and angled openings up to 48 inches wide.
David and John talk to customers personally, walk visitors through the factory, and stand behind every shutter that leaves the building. This is not a national brand with a regional sales rep. It is a local manufacturing business run by the people who own it.

Most orders ship and install in 3 to 5 weeks, not 8 to 12 weeks. We mill the panels the week your order lands.

If your bay window is a degree off square or your arched top has an unusual radius, we build for that specific opening. Imported sets cannot.

Every panel is inspected by the team that built it before it leaves the factory. No third-party warehouse step.
