See the factory in motion

A short walkthrough of the floor, milling, finishing, assembly, and the showroom, so you know what you’re walking into before you visit.

What you'll see on a factory tour

Most shutter companies sell you a product you've never seen made. Walk our Lake Forest floor and see yours being built.

The showroom

A working display of every design we build, so you can put the options next to each other in the same light and see how they differ.

  • Styles: clearview, arched, French door, sliding bypass, specialty shapes
  • Frame profiles: detail, L-frame, decorative
  • Louvers: 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5 inch
  • Layouts: full height, tier-on-tier, café

The manufacturing floor

The full build, from raw material to finished panel. We pick the material by the window: a sunny living-room bay gets wood, a bath window over a shower gets poly or Polylux.

  • Basswood: the gold standard, stable and takes custom paint or stain
  • Polyresin: solid synthetic, fully waterproof for wet rooms
  • Polylux: our hybrid, wood strength with composite moisture resistance

The finishing process

The finish is where imported product fails fastest. Cheaper shutters are molded with color that yellows; ours are finished to furniture-grade standards instead.

  • Premium acrylic lacquer, the same family used on fine furniture
  • Two in-house spray booths with controlled airflow and dust filtration
  • Several coats, sanded between each, for a hard, silk-like surface
  • Resists fading, yellowing, and chipping; wipes clean with a damp cloth

Quality control

Because we build in-house, panels are inspected at every stage, not once at the end. Dave and John review tolerances on custom orders themselves. The result is a panel that fits the frame with no gaps, no rattles, and no warping, then goes straight to one of our own installers.
