Long Beach & Lake Forest

Built in Lake Forest, installed in Long Beach

Long Beach is the northern edge of our regular service area. The drive is about 42 minutes from our Lake Forest factory on the 405, and the LB homes that come to us tend to fall into a few distinct camps: the Belmont Shore and Naples waterfront properties where salt air pushes us hard toward Polylux or polyresin; the Bixby Knolls and Los Cerritos historic neighborhoods with their Craftsman and Spanish-revival homes that need shutters specifically designed for original wood frames; and the Park Estates and Alamitos Heights homes with their mid-century floor plans and large picture windows.

For the waterfront homes in Naples and Belmont Shore, we recommend our Polylux hybrid or full polyresin almost without exception. Real basswood and daily marine air do not mix indefinitely, even with our ten-step finish. Polylux has the look and feel of wood with the dimensional stability of a composite.

For the inland LB homes (Bixby Knolls, Los Cerritos, Cal Heights), real basswood plantation in white with a 3.5-inch louver is the most-asked-for. The historic frames in these neighborhoods have moved with eighty or a hundred years of seasonal humidity, so we mill panels to the actual opening, not the nominal opening.

Most LB jobs ship and install in three to five weeks once measured. We schedule the full install for a single day where possible.

Common questions

Do you serve Long Beach?

Yes. We're 42 minutes up the 405 from our Lake Forest factory. We've been installing in LB for over three decades.

Why Polylux for Belmont Shore and Naples homes?

Salt air and unfinished basswood eventually argue. The wood drinks moisture, the finish gives up at the joints, and you end up with louvers that don't sit true. Polylux has a UV-stable composite shell that holds up indefinitely in coastal conditions.
