Custom plantation shutters in Rossmoor

Rossmoor is the unincorporated community on the LA-OC border near Seal Beach and Los Alamitos, with most of its housing stock dating from the 1950s and 1960s tract development by Ross Cortese. The drive from our Lake Forest factory is about 30 to 40 minutes on the 405 depending on traffic. Most Rossmoor homes share consistent floor plans, with three- and four-bedroom ranch-style designs and the typical post-war window scale.

For most Rossmoor interior rooms, real basswood plantation in white with a 3.5-inch louver is the most-asked-for combination. The kitchens and family rooms with their original aluminum sliders to the patio often benefit from our 48-inch panel maximum.

The Rossmoor homes were built with wood frames that have moved over sixty or seventy years of seasonal humidity. We mill panels to the actual opening, not the nominal opening, which means a frame that's slightly out of square at the corner ends up with a panel that still seats flush against the trim. Stock shutters don't handle this; our mill does.

The drive is far enough that we schedule Rossmoor installs as full-day jobs. Once measured, most full-home projects ship and install in three to five weeks. The crew that builds the panels installs them.
