Custom plantation shutters in Rancho Mission Viejo

Rancho Mission Viejo is the newest of the master-planned South Orange County communities, with Sendero, Esencia, Del Prado, and Paseo developing through the 2010s and 2020s. We've been installing in RMV since the first model homes opened in Sendero. Many of the floor plans here are repeats of designs we'd already installed in nearby Ladera Ranch and Rancho Santa Margarita, so we know the trim profiles before we measure.

The Esencia and Del Prado homes lean heavily toward floor-to-ceiling glass in the great rooms, which is where our 48-inch panel maximum and 4.5-inch louver combination earn their keep. The primary suites and bedrooms typically get a 3.5-inch louver in basswood, white, with a standard detail frame.

Sendero, closer to O'Neill Regional Park and the open-space corridor, has more arched accent windows and bay configurations than the newer sections. Paseo is somewhere in between. For all of them, the recommendation is usually real basswood for interior rooms and Polylux for any west-facing rooms with strong afternoon exposure.

RMV is 15 to 20 minutes from our Lake Forest factory on the 241. Most full-home jobs ship and install in three to five weeks. We schedule the install for a single day where the home is large enough to warrant it; smaller orders wrap in an afternoon.
