San Juan Capistrano & Lake Forest

Built in Lake Forest, installed in San Juan Capistrano

San Juan Capistrano is the historic Spanish-mission town in South Orange County, anchored by the Mission San Juan Capistrano and the swallows that return there each year. The homes we install in here include both the older Mission-revival architecture in Mission Hills and Capistrano Heights, and the newer master-planned communities in Marbella, San Juan Hills, and Whispering Hills.

For the older Mission-revival homes, the work is more involved. These houses were built with custom-trim profiles and arched accent windows that don't match catalog shapes. We mill panels to the actual opening and the actual trim, not the nominal opening. Real basswood plantation in white is the standard recommendation for these interior rooms, with the louver size matched to the original architectural scale of the room.

The newer San Juan Hills and Marbella homes are the opposite. Consistent floor plans, larger openings, master-planned trim. The 3.5-inch and 4.5-inch louvers in basswood are the most-asked-for, with Polylux substituted for any west-facing rooms with strong afternoon exposure on the hillsides.

SJC is 12 to 15 miles from our Lake Forest factory, about 20 to 25 minutes on the 5. Most full-home jobs ship and install in three to five weeks once measured. We schedule the install for a single day where the home is large enough to warrant it.
