Rancho Santa Fe & Lake Forest

Built in Lake Forest, installed in Rancho Santa Fe

Rancho Santa Fe is the affluent unincorporated community in north San Diego County, about 58 miles down the 5 from our Lake Forest factory and roughly an hour and five minutes depending on traffic. RSF homes are almost entirely custom-built estates, organized into The Covenant (the original master-planned area), Fairbanks Ranch, Rancho Pacifica, and the newer Cielo and Crosby Estates communities.

The Covenant homes tend to be the most architecturally elaborate, with custom trim profiles, two-story foyers, bay windows in the great rooms, and the kind of unusual opening shapes that the original architects specified one at a time. A catalog shutter set has no business in these homes. Every panel gets milled to the actual opening.

The recommendation for almost all RSF homes is real basswood plantation in white with a 4.5-inch louver. The larger window scale of these custom-built estates suits the wider louver. The 48-inch panel maximum handles the two-story foyers and the wider sliders without requiring a center mullion. For west-facing rooms with strong afternoon sun on the hillside lots, our Polylux hybrid handles the UV better than basswood over the long term.

The long drive means we schedule RSF installs as full-day jobs. Once measured, most full-home projects ship and install in three to five weeks. The crew that builds the panels installs them.

Common questions

Can you handle the custom architecture in The Covenant?

Yes. These are our most milled-to-spec installs in SD County. Two-story foyers, custom bay angles, French-door cutouts, and arched accent windows that don't appear in any catalog are standard work for us.

How far is your factory from Rancho Santa Fe?

58 miles, about an hour and five minutes on the 5 depending on traffic. We schedule RSF installs as full-day jobs.
