San Marcos & Lake Forest

Built in Lake Forest, installed in San Marcos

San Marcos is in inland north San Diego County, about 65 miles down the 5 and the 78 from our Lake Forest factory and roughly an hour and ten minutes depending on traffic. San Marcos homes span a wide range of housing stock: the master-planned Discovery Hills and San Elijo Hills tracts on the south and east edges; the older Twin Oaks Valley with its semi-rural ranch-style homes; the Lake San Marcos community on the south side; and the newer tracts around Cal State San Marcos.

For most San Marcos interior rooms, real basswood plantation in white with a 3.5-inch louver is the most-asked-for combination. The San Elijo Hills and Discovery Hills floor plans have consistent openings and standard trim that we recognize before the measurement visit. For Lake San Marcos and the hillside Twin Oaks homes with strong afternoon sun, our Polylux hybrid is the right call for west-facing rooms.

A few specifics to San Marcos: the older Twin Oaks Valley homes were built with wood frames that have moved with decades of seasonal humidity. We mill panels to the actual opening. The newer master-planned tracts get standard plantation work with the louver size matched to opening scale.

The long drive means we schedule San Marcos installs as full-day jobs. Once measured, most full-home projects ship and install in three to five weeks.
