Santa Ana & Lake Forest
Santa Ana has the largest concentration of historic homes in Orange County. French Park, Floral Park, Park Santiago, Washington Square, and Heninger Park are the neighborhoods with the Craftsman bungalows, Spanish-revival cottages, and 1920s-and-earlier custom homes that need shutters specifically designed for original wood frames and plaster walls. Stock shutters were not built for these openings.
For the historic SA homes, the work is custom mill from the start. Original frames have moved with eighty or a hundred years of seasonal humidity, so panels must be milled to the actual opening, not the nominal opening. We have a frame library that includes the most common French Park and Floral Park trim shapes, but most installs still require at least one custom profile.
The newer Santa Ana neighborhoods (MacArthur Place, the South Coast Metro corner, the newer infill projects) are the opposite. Consistent openings, standard trim, larger floor plans. Real basswood plantation in white with a 3.5-inch louver is the most-asked-for combination for these.
Santa Ana is 14 to 16 miles from our Lake Forest factory, about 20 to 30 minutes on the 55 or the 5. The historic-home installs sometimes take longer to schedule because the measurement visit involves more careful documentation of the existing trim. The actual install usually wraps in a single day.

Yes. These are some of our more involved installs. The original frames have moved over a century of seasonal humidity, so we measure the actual opening and mill panels to it. Our frame library includes the most common trim shapes in these neighborhoods.
